Google, in arrivo la social Gmail

Google is adding a social profile to their Gmail inbox. The meeting between the webmail and social networking is anything but new: We have already moved their pieces on this guideline, Facebook is working towards equal and opposite (from social networks to webmail), and now Gmail more would not be doing if not a defensive pursuit.

noise erupted from a few hours, but the confirmation may already be coming: the Google team has announced a press conference today to present "a number of innovations in two of our most popular products." Gmail could therefore be one of the two products, together with Google Talk or other complementary services. The new facility should allow for updating your status message, providing personalized information to be conveyed with social function.

Google already has invested much time and resources in the world of social networks, but to date this is the biggest Achilles' heel of the group. Orkut is a reality of success only in Brazil, while Latitude and other similar products have not broken through at the moment. The chase started in Facebook may be out so late and the partnership between Zuckerberg and Ballmer is something that can scare (even more for the fact of seeing Bing guide Truck from the pages of social networks).

Success will depend, however, different components, the main one being the service users' participation in entrusting their emotions, their update and their social life online. The attempt would be to move users' communications from the center of attraction of Facebook, snatching at least part of the market and avoid the party. The alchemy of the project, however, will depend largely on how the various components will be used and mingling in the appendix of the new webmail knew that amaze the world with the revolutionary capacity offered free to users.

Free Today is no longer sufficient: now is the "social". Within hours you can understand how and if Gmail is still able to surprise.
